Beauty Society enters ingestible skincare market with hyaluronic acid supplements
04 Aug 2022 --- The debut of Beauty Society’s Infuse HA (hyaluronic acid) product – a daily supplement containing Haplex Plus, a “cutting-edge” type of HA – marks the company’s entry into the world of edible skincare, after 18 years of operating in the topical cosmetics industry.
Haplex Plus is pegged as a highly purified, food-grade version of hyaluronic acid derived from the fermentation of bacteria and yeast.
This novel fermentation technique produces smaller, more powerful molecules that are easily absorbed and held by the skin.
Aiding with aging
Beauty Society’s lead chemist Bradley Fernandez explains that the hyaluronic acid that is naturally produced in the body decreases as you age.
“It’s fascinating to see how bioavailable Haplex Plus is compared to what is currently on the market.” He goes on to say that this type of hyaluronic acid may significantly improve skin hydration and suppleness.
Along with Haplex Plus, Infuse HA contains vitamin C, magnesium citrate, vitamin B3 (niacinamide), and vitamins B6 and B12. This mix of vitamins and minerals is touted to provide protection and hydration benefits.
Infuse HA is now available in 30-day supply pouches, retailing within the US. This flavorless supplement, taken once daily, dissolves readily in any water or water-equivalent beverage.
Beauty Society intends to develop the Infuse HA brand with new tastes and active ingredients.
What is hyaluronic acid?
Cleveland Clinic, a non-profit US-based academic medical center, explains that scientists have discovered hyaluronic acid all over the body, including in the eyes, joints and skin.
It is a sticky material produced naturally by your body, but it is frequently produced scientifically by fermenting specific types of bacteria. A typical source is rooster combs (the red, mohawk-like growth on top of a rooster’s head and face).
The chemical has several advantages, but it is most recognized for its hydration properties since it is good at holding water. A quarter-teaspoon of hyaluronic acid contains approximately one and a half litres of water, or 1,000 times its weight in water.
An all-round ingredient
Among its other benefits, hyaluronic acid is frequently utilized to treat dry eyes and is found in several eye drops. It is also found in moisturizers, lotions, ointments and serums.
Hyaluronic acid serums are beneficial for mature skin since they assist to plump the skin.
Aside from hydration, it also helps joints function well and reduces discomfort and damage caused by bones grinding against one other. It also makes the skin more flexible by allowing it to stretch and bend while also reducing wrinkles and creases.
Hyaluronic acid has also been shown to speed up wound healing and minimize scarring.
There are several methods to consume hyaluronic acid. Taking hyaluronic acid orally has several advantages. These include lowering arthritic pain and increasing skin health, to name a few.
When used on the skin, it is very effective at reducing the appearance of wrinkles and age lines.
