Derma E expands Skin Restore line with vegan peptide and collagen NPD
13 May 2022 --- Vegan dermatologist beauty brand Derma E has unveiled Advanced Peptides & Flora-Collagen Night Moisturizer, and Advanced Peptides & Flora-Collagen Gentle Jelly Cleanser. The products are part of the brand’s Skin Restore skincare line.
The Flora-Collagen is a plant-based collagen sourced from a concentrate of amino acids. The product is designed to retain moisture for soft and smooth skin.
The Advanced Peptides & Flora-Collagen cleanser gently removes impurities while hydrating the skin.
“A six-week-long independent clinical trial showed proof that our Skin Restore products resulted in 100% improved skin elasticity, 97% improvement in skin firmness, and 97% improved appearance of fine lines and wrinkles over that six-week time frame,” says Barbara Roll, chief marketing officer at Derma E.
“Additionally, participants also noticed a more even skin tone, improved texture and a softening in the lines around the mouth.”
Genetically engineered collagen
Plant-based collagen alternatives or flora collagen provide a youthful appearance to the skin while also looking plumper and radiant. Flora collagen also helps retain moisture and support skin health, says the brand.
The brand explains that vegan collagen alternatives are genetically engineered, unlike animal-based protein.
“Although this collagen is boosting and promoting protein uses no animal products, it is as effective as animal collagen for skincare. Plant-based collagen alternative is a high-quality collagen alternative made from yeast and bacteria sources and has moisturizing and hydrating benefits that can help keep the skin looking youthful,” explains the brand.DERMA E is part of Topix Skin Health with a network of over 6,000 dermatologist partners.
“Collagen is still a huge trend that shows no signs of cooling down,” Oliver Wolf, global marketing and communication at Gelita, previously told NutritionInsight.
Rice peptides for radiance
“The Advanced Peptides & Flora-Collagen Night Moisturizer is a luxurious and creamy moisturizer with anti-aging multi-peptides that support collagen health and restore overnight.”
The rice peptides in the jelly cleanser improve skin’s hydration and elasticity, while the rice powder softens and boosts skin’s radiance while polishing away dull skin.
“Rice Protein Peptides nourish and renew skin at rest while Melatonin helps support nightly rejuvenation and plant-derived Flora-Collagen helps reduce moisture loss for softer skin,” adds Derma E.
Moreover, researchers found that creating new peptide-based skin products and treatments may be possible with a better understanding of the stratum corneum – the skin’s outermost layer. They further identified the peptides responsible for targeting photo-damage at the beginning of the aging process.
Additionally, peptides are described as the language of nature: signaling molecules that can trigger, regulate or correct precise biological pathways in human bodies that can be added to our everyday products, from skincare to supplements, Dr. Audrey Wall, Nuritas scientific lead, told NutritionInsight.
