Innosya introduces biotech actives for “pro-aging” skin care
Key takeaways
- Innosya introduces a biotech active range focused on “pro-aging,” sustainability, and personalization in skin care.
- The range includes vegan, clinically-tested actives, addressing skin aging, stress, and menopausal aging.
- Innosya will showcase these actives at In-cosmetics Global 2026 in Paris, leveraging Lesaffre’s fermentation expertise.

Innosya has unveiled a range of biotech actives that target “pro-aging” with various applications across age demographics. Leveraging its parent brand, Lesaffre’s 170 year long fermentation expertise, the cosmetics and personal care brand is utilizing biotechnology to explore new longevity opportunities in skin care.
The company will showcase the three actives at In-cosmetics Global 2026 in Paris, France (April 14–16).
Innosya cites growing consumer demands for sustainability and personalization in cosmetics as the drivers behind the three-piece portfolio. The range is scientifically-backed with clinically-tested, fermented skin care solutions to support the skin aging process.
“Innosya combines Lesaffre’s century-long expertise as pioneers in fermentation and high-quality ingredients with our experts’ in-depth knowledge of the cosmetics market,” says Benedicte Toulemonde, business director at Innosya. “By responding to growing consumer demand for more sustainable ingredients, we aim to become a leading player in the market.”
Three-piece portfolio
Innosya’s Skinosya Chondro, a vegan ingredient sourced through the fermentation process, is said to be the first fermented alternative to animal-derived chondroitin sulfate. Chondroitin sulfate, is a natural glycosaminoglycan — as is hyaluronic acid — found in connective tissue, cartilage, and skin.
By utilizing the naturally occurring sulfate, Skinosya Chondro is clinically proven to strengthen the skin barrier, stimulate collagen and elastin production, and reduce sagging by reinforcing skin elasticity. The ingredient has potential applications across anti-aging, pre-juvenating, hydration, makeup, men’s care, and body care solutions.
The second active, Skinosya Salidroside, aims to address stressed skin through a sustainable alternative to rhodiola root extract.
Salidroside is a component typically found in rhodiola. However, this stress-adaptogenic plant is on the CITES list (the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora).
Through fermentation, Skinosya Salidroside provides an alternative to the extract, which is said to efficaciously support skin damaged by environmental stressors, without contributing to ecological stress by farming an endangered species.
Under environmental and psychological stress, the body produces cortisol, which has detrimental effects on skin health, such as acne breakouts, inflammation, and early signs of aging.
Skinosya Salidroside tackles cortisol secretion, reinforces the mitochondrial network, reduces inflammatory issues, and fortifies the skin barrier. In doing so, it has applications in the anti-stress, anti-fatigue, and well-being segments.
The third and final ingredient targets menopausal aging. Skinosya SAG, which stands for S-Acetyl Glutathione, is a “highly stable and bioavailable form of glutathione.” The antioxidant declines rapidly during hormonal changes associated with menopause. Furthermore, the drop in estrogen causes free iron to accumulate in skin cells, and the reduction in glutathione (GSH) levels causes rapid visible aging due to membrane lipid peroxidation and ferroptosis.
Skinosya SAG addresses these intracellular dynamics and improves skin longevity by restoring GSH levels, “preventing lipid peroxidation and protein carbonylation responsible for cell death,” and supporting mitochondrial integrity.
The ingredient is compatible with use in menopausal skin health, hydrating, and illuminating formulation applications.
