Inter Parfums named exclusive global licensee for G-III’s Donna Karan and DKNY fragrances
21 Jul 2022 --- France-headquartered perfume and cosmetics manufacturer and distributor Inter Parfums has closed its agreement with G-III Apparel Group, to become the exclusive worldwide licensee for the Donna Karan and DKNY fragrance brands.
Jean Madar, chairman and CEO of Inter Parfums, highlights Donna Karan’s Cashmere Mist as having a pronounced brand heritage, particularly popular in the US. Additionally, the Cashmere Mist deodorant is a high performer in the North American market.

Founded in 1982, Inter Parfums develops, manufactures and distributes prestige perfumes and cosmetics as the exclusive worldwide license for Abercrombie & Fitch, Anna Sui, Boucheron, Coach, Ferragamo, Graff, GUESS, Hollister, Jimmy Choo, Karl Lagerfeld, Kate Spade, MCM, Moncler, Montblanc, Oscar de la Renta, S.T. Dupont, Ungaro and Van Cleef & Arpels.
“DKNY Be Delicious has established itself as a global blockbuster since its launch in 2004. As a part of the signed license agreement previously announced in October 2021, we have already initiated developing strategic advancements and product lines, with an expectation to launch new fragrances under these brands in 2023.”
Inter Parfums is also the owner of Lanvin fragrances and the Rochas brand. Through its global distribution network, the Company’s products are sold in over 120 countries.
Fragrance sector highlights
Among other fragrance sector developments, Symrise recently introduced its Maison Lautier 1795 fragrance brand while scaling a factory in Grasse, France, for the brand. The scent specialist also recently unveiled its augmented AI platform Philyra 2.0, which equips perfumers with a creative and environmentally sustainable tool to formulate perfumes.
This year, luxury perfume brand Fratelli Diamanti launched the Diamond Collection containing 15 “niche” perfumes, which include the Montecristo brand that was hailed as one of the “best perfumes in the world” by perfume experts.
Last month, fragrance and taste giant Firmenich teamed up with ScentRealm, a digital scent technology provider based in Hangzhou, China. This collaboration was pegged as the first of its kind in the country, allowing Firmenich to improve its clients’ and consumers’ fragrance and aroma experience by using jointly developed digital devices.
As more personal care brands seek environmentally friendlier methods for NPD, upcycled ingredient use in perfume products has increased.
