CeraVe expands ceramide skincare range with makeup remover and eye cream
21 Jul 2022 --- CeraVe, a US-based skincare company, is adding three new products to its expanding range. The products include Comforting Eye Makeup Remover, Makeup Removing Cleanser Balm and Skin Renewing Eye Cream, which were created in collaboration with dermatologists.
According to CeraVe, each product contains three essential ceramides 1, 3 and 6-II that restore and maintain the skin’s natural protective barrier.
“As part of our aim in providing therapeutic skincare for all, we are continuously consulting dermatologists to ensure we’re developing products that are meeting the ever-evolving needs that they hear from their patients,” says Jasteena Gill, VP of marketing at CeraVe.
“In working closely with dermatologists in both development and formulation, CeraVe delivers products that are gentle yet effective for all skin types. We are looking forward to introducing these three new offerings that will help consumers continue to customize their skincare routines to address their own skin’s needs.”
To assist in restoring the skin’s natural protective barrier, ceramides and Multivesicular Emulsion (MVE) technology are used in the products. MVE technology is a delivery system that enhances the effectiveness of formulas and helps protect the skin barrier by hydrating the skin for an extended period.
Triple board-certified dermatologist Dr. Mamina Turegano adds: “I’ve been using CeraVe for more than a decade and confidently recommend the brand to my patients because I know each product is carefully formulated with ingredients that effectively address a wide range of skin concerns.”
“Their newest products offer even more makeup-removing and anti-aging options for my patients that incorporate ingredients I can trust for all skin types.”
The Comforting Eye Makeup Remover has bi-phase water and oil that removes debris and tough eye makeup, such as waterproof mascara and long-wear eye makeup.
According to the company, the skin is left feeling clean and revitalized after applying this product, with no greasy residue left behind. The makeup remover has a “soothing,” milky texture and is suitable for all skin types. It contains hyaluronic acid and ceramides and is alcohol-free.
Plant-based jojoba oil and peptide complex
The Makeup Removing Cleanser Balm is pegged as the company’s first cleansing balm formulated with jojoba oil from plants. The jojoba oil helps the skin maintain moisture while cleansing, leaving it “nourished and comforted.”
The melting formula removes waterproof mascara and long-wear makeup from the entire face without irritating the skin. It is also suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin, as it is non-comedogenic.
The third product, the Skin Renewing Eye Cream, is part of CeraVe’s skin renewing line and contains caffeine to reduce puffiness and the appearance of dark circles, as well as an anti-aging peptide complex to help diminish the appearance of fine lines and crow’s feet.
The company adds that the ultra-lightweight, intensely hydrating solution leaves the under-eye region smoother and brighter while providing all-day moisture for younger-looking, healthier-looking skin.
Previously, CereVe unveiled the Skin Renewing Nightly Exfoliating Treatment – a gentle chemical exfoliating serum that may brighten skin, increase hydration and lessen the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
The company also reformulated a line of therapeutic infant products to meet the demands of newborns’ sensitive skin and address skin irritants. Vitamin E has been added to the CeraVe baby wash and shampoo products.
