New Boots Beauty concept store in London’s Battersea offers skin, hair consults and new brands
08 Dec 2023 --- UK beauty retailer Boots opens Boots Beauty in the Battersea Power Station with new brands and services for skin and hair.
The store is about 11,000 sq feet and has 250 beauty brands across skin care, cosmetics, body care, hair care and fragrance. In a first for Boots, R.E.M Beauty, Kerastase, Shu Uemura and Bubble are available in-store and online.
Boots says it has a “unique blend of health and beauty expertise” in the store with a pharmacist who will give free consultations to customers with skin concerns.
Specialists also provide customers with free skin scan services using a NEXA skin imaging tool for in-depth analysis, advice and brand-neutral product recommendations.
The launch follows the company revamping over 170 beauty halls across the UK over the last three years.
Pharmacist consultations
The dermatologist-trained pharmacist will provide one-to-one clinical advice for various conditions, including acne, rosacea, eczema and psoriasis in a private consultation space.
Boots also plans to offer a private pharmacist prescribing service at the store shortly for customers who need access to prescription-only medicines to treat certain skin conditions.
To make clinical skin care support more widely accessible on the high street, Boots will look to roll out specialist skin care training to more pharmacists in selected stores across the UK.
Jenna Ward, head of Beauty Reinvention at Boots, says: “The new Boots Beauty store at Battersea Power Station provides a platform for us to test the latest brands and new service innovations before introducing them to customers shopping in our stores across the country.”
“By combining Boots’ 175 years of pharmacy heritage with our market-leading beauty offering, we can offer accessible and holistic skin care expertise on the high street in a way that’s never been done before.”
Additionally, the store will house a new team of 35 Boots Beauty Specialists, who join the existing “Beauty Crew” already in stores across the UK.
In a Boots-first, the store will also offer Dermalux LED Light Treatment services, which uses light waves to accelerate natural skin regeneration and repair. Customers can book an appointment online for £60 (US$75.40) per treatment.
Skin care brand No7 will offer a range of services in the store, including its new Skin Solutions Service. The service supports customers to manage their skin concerns with three free consultations over twelve weeks using dermatologist-grade technology.
Hair care and refillable fragrance
The new store will also feature a Hair Bar that offers a professional scalp analysis service for support with hair damage and thinning hair. There will be weekly hair demonstrations and styling services from Dyson and Drybar.
Boots’ new range of premium and professional haircare brands — including Color Wow, OUAI and Wella Professionals — will be available alongside a range of products for curly, coily and wavy hair types. This includes independent brands new for Boots, such as No Knot Co and Silke London.
Customers can experience regular masterclasses hosted by beauty brands, and the Beauty Bar delivers free express services from Boots Beauty Specialists.
The store also contains a new-concept Fragrance Discovery Bar with a refill station, interactive product display and a digital fragrance finder to help customers find their perfect scent. A dedicated beauty product recycling station is also located in the store.
Recently, The Perfume Shop partnered with L’Oreal to launch the “first multi-brand fragrance refill station” in the UK. Fragrances include scents from YSL, Prada, Lancôme, Armani and Mugler.
