On the acquisition trail: Anjac completes CA$229 million deal with Apollo to boost presence in personal care
10 Jan 2022 --- Anjac Health & Beauty, an industrial group specialized in the formulation, manufacture and packaging of cosmetics, healthcare products, medicines and food supplements, has acquired Apollo Healthcare Corp, a Canadian company specializing in the development and production of hygiene and wellness products and over-the-counter solutions, including sunscreen products.
The move confirms Anjac’s international expansion and consolidates its offer in health and beauty to serve local and international brands and laboratories, notes the company.
Strong presence in personal care
Apollo was co-founded by brothers Charles and Richard Wachsberg, who remain shareholders and co-CEOs.
The company is headquartered in Ontario, Canada, and is one of the leaders in the development and manufacture of personal care and hygiene products in North America.
After those of Cosmetix West and Feltor in 2019, and that of Roval Cosmétiques in 2020, the Anjac group signs its eighth acquisition with Apollo in five years.
The Anjac group now has 13 companies, with 21 R&D and manufacturing centers, and its business volume has doubled in just three years to reach €600 million (US$680 million).
According to the company, each new acquisition represents an opportunity for the Anjac group to expand its service offering in specific areas, while taking advantage of the complementarity of these areas.
“Anjac’s established and proprietary credentials in personal care and OTC technologies will complement Apollo’s incomparable leadership in driving distinctive, strategic, and first to market product innovation for the benefit of its cherished family of customers,” he Charles Wachsberg, co-CEO of Apollo says.
“We are very pleased to expand our knowledge and technologies in North America thanks to this important acquisition. This represents great opportunities for our international customers, especially in terms of industrial strength and innovation,” explains Aurélien Chaufour, director general of the Anjac group.
