Through its Ingredients + Specialties division, Univar Solutions has entered an expanded agreement with Dow for home care ingredient distribution across North America.
The deal amplifies the global ingredient distributor’s access to Dow’s SupraCare polymers and specialty additives collection. The enhanced access is said to provide formulators with high-performance, multi-functional cleaning ingredients, enabling formulation flexibility, and aligning with transforming market demands.
“The cleaning industry continues to evolve as brands look for sustainable solutions that can deliver effective performance while meeting changing consumer and sustainability expectations,” James Peterson, SVP, Care at Univar Solutions, tells Personal Care Insights.
“Our expanded relationship with Dow in North America for their SupraCare line strengthens our ability to connect customers with advanced technologies and formulation expertise.”
Home and body care applications
Dow’s SupraCare polymers and advanced additives are designed for applications in laundry care, dishwashing, and hand soaps. According to Peterson, the line enhances fragrance and quat deposition on fabric surfaces, improves foam stability, and delivers enhanced skin feel and lubricity.
“By combining Dow’s ingredient portfolio with Ingredients + Specialties from Univar Solutions’ technical resources and market knowledge, we’re helping customers develop the next generation of high-performing cleaning products,” adds Peterson.
The line is also said to improve formulation compatibility, enabling more efficient liquid and powder detergent systems.
“Consumers want products that offer stronger, longer-lasting performance, while businesses need quality results fast and at scale,” says Juan Pablo Watty, global cleaning platform director for Dow.
“Together, we are empowering customers with innovative solutions that deliver multi-functional benefits while meeting the need for growth, speed, and sustainability.”
The partnership is further bolstered by the technical resources of Univar’s specialty ingredients team, equipping customers with access to a combination of market insights, technical expertise, and formulation support.
Through its global Solution Center network, including a flagship home care and industrial cleaning laboratory in Houston, Texas, US, Univar works to accelerate product development and bring advanced cleaning technologies to market.
Standing partnerships
This is not the first partnership for the duo, who previously signed a long-term agreement to expand Univar’s access to Dow’s Decarbia products, a range of low-carbon specialty chemicals with cosmetic applications.
“By combining Dow’s Decarbia low-carbon product portfolio, supported by high-integrity, verifiable PCF (Product Carbon Footprint) data, with Univar Solutions’ strong global distribution network, we are helping customers advance their sustainability goals with confidence,” said Brendy Lange, president of Performance Materials and Coatings at Dow.
“This agreement deepens our collaboration with Univar Solutions and reflects our shared vision to accelerate value chain decarbonization while delivering value to customers.”
