This International Women’s Day – March eighth – Nu Skin’s social endeavor, the Nu Skin Force for Good Foundation, donated almost US$100,000 to MCE Social Capital, a non-profit investment firm. MCE’s work creates economic opportunities in the developing world and focuses on investing in climate action, the environment and women.
Nu Skin’s investment will help the social investment firm provide women entrepreneurs in rural low-income regions with micro-loans, helping to create more sustainable jobs in agrarian economies. The loans will also increase the income of smallholder farmers.
The Platinum Equity portfolio company, L&R Distributors, has completed its acquisition of SJ Creations from the company’s founders. Financial details haven’t been disclosed at this time. SJ Creations is a company that makes health, beauty and personal care products that are sold by major retailers under the company’s owned brands or private labels.
The California-based company sells across a wide variety of end customers. SJ Creation’s founders will remain involved with the business following the acquisitions.
