Bioiberica’s Dermial shows “superior effect” compared to pure hyaluronic acid from fermentation origin
08 Apr 2023 | Bioiberica
On the sidelines of In-Cosmetics Global 2023, Bioiberica released peer-reviewed research demonstrating its Dermial ingredient’s ability to exert anti-aging, regenerative and antioxidant properties in skin cells. At the trade show, we caught up with Daniel Martínez Puig, head of human health R&D at Bioiberica, to learn how formulators can adapt the findings of this study for skin health innovations catering to hydration, firmness and elasticity.
This is Rahika Sicario here for CNS Media reporting live from In Cosmetics in Barcelona, Spain.
I'm joined by Daniel Martinez Book who's the head of R&D at Bio Irica.
Daniel, could you please briefly summarize the study Bio Ibirica is presenting at this, trade show?
Yes, this is an in vitro study evaluating the effects of dermal.
Dermal is a yaguronic acid matrix ingredient containing yaguronic acid, glucosamino glycans, and collagen.
The studies evaluating the effects of dermal on human dermal fibroblasts and keratinocytes, and the results showed that dermal have an effect on cell proliferation and migration and also on the production of extracellular matrix components such as collagen type 1 and type 3 LST and also on glycosamino glycans.
So, and besides this, the product has shown to have also protective effects against oxidative stress.
So the more research is required, but especially clinical findings, but the overall results clearly show that the dermal has anti-aging effects.
And , this is because the, the effects described mix counteract.
The cellular and molecular mechanisms that are going on on the age of the skin, right, so how can formulators adapt the findings of this study for beauty and skin health developments?
According to the results of the study, the product could be incorporated as an active ingredient both for nutraceuticals and also for cosmetic products to provide anti-aging effects in terms of skin hydration, firmness, and elasticity.
So with environmental sustainability taking the center stage at this year's in cosmetics, what are some of the ways in which Biori is supporting the same?
Historically, Bio America has used an approach of a circular economy.
That has been a key factor contributing to our achievements.
In fact, we source from 100% raw materials, biological raw materials, and we produce 100% biological products.
Actually, last year we obtained the silver medal certification from Eco bodies in sustainability and we are aligned in 6 SDGs by the United Nations in terms of sustainability and we are soon going to launch the climate change strategy 2023 among other highlights.
Thank you for talking to us today, Daniel.
It was lovely having you here.
Thank you.
Thank you very much.
