The president of dsm-firmenich Beauty&Care, Parand Salmassinia, told us on the show floor of In-cosmetics Global 2026 about the company's strategy to help beauty brands succeed in a rapidly evolving landscape. She discussed, the practical takeaways from its "Dream-Led Science. Beautiful Reality." concept, and its latest breakthroughs in sun care. Salmassinia also highlighted Alpaflor Neurosooth, a climate-adaptive care ingredient for holistic well-being.

So our first question is, all three of your skincare innovations at In Cosmetics Global have been shortlisted for scientific awards.
The best ingredient and Best green ingredient.
What does that recognition mean for?
We are genuinely proud, and this matters a lot to us.
The judges have raised the bar so high.
This is why this matters so much.
It's also a validation for us that shows that we are able to translate our research into tangible solutions for our customers.
It also shows the range and the breadth of the portfolio that we are able to offer through our scientific engine.
So the beauty industry is evolving very fast, and what is firm Nick Beauty and Care's strategy and vision?
For how brands can win in this new landscape, we strive to partner with a brand and to bring them our science to something that is much more measurable and sustainable and has a positive impact.
We strive to work on co-collaboration and co-creation together to bring our scientific solutions to real life solutions for our customers and also for their consumers.
This year, your concept is.
Led science, beautiful reality.
What should beauty brands take from that in practical terms?
So for us, dream led science simply means that science should not remain abstract, that it should translate into an elevated beauty solution again for our customers and for our consumers, and we are very proud to be able to offer this translational science from very upstream research all the way down to the solutions that are relevant to the marketplace.
What is new in suncare and why does it matter?
And then with that, what are the Firmic flagship suncare solutions of 2026?
So not to be arrogant, but we consider ourselves to be absolute experts in suncare, and we are bringing a transformative solution to North America.
It's the first product approved in 20 years, and the product is called Partial Shield, and it will.
Approved by FDA as a new innovation for the US market, we are very proud of this.
We also offer in many toolboxes that we have a sunscreen optimizer which allows our customers and formulators to optimize the sunscreen formulations for the best feel for the skin, for the microbiome of the skin, for the skin sensitivity, for all the different solutions that the consumers are looking for.
So Alhaflor NeuroSooothe stands out as a climate adaptive care for holistic -being.
Why is this direction so relevant right now?
So first of all, it's a climate stressor is a reality of skin on a day to day basis.
So this is the first ingredient that is bringing a climate adaptive care and marrying it of a neurocosmetic concept, and so it's really elevating the science of the stressed skin to a whole new level and bringing a real solution that you can feel and see at the same time.
