Cetaphil expands Optimal Hydration facial line to body skincare with serum and lotion launch
16 Aug 2022 --- Cetaphil is unveiling two hydration-based body products after a “successful” launch of its facial line to complement skincare routines and expand its product portfolio. The products are called Sheer Hydration Body Spray Moisturizer and Sheer Hydration Replenishing Body Lotion.
The two products are additions to the Optimal Hydration line, which combines hydration with lightness. Both products are paraben-free, hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic, fragrance-free and dermatologically tested.
Fast-absorbing formula
The body spray serum is designed for practicality during skincare. With a light texture and easy absorption, the serum protects against five signs of sensitive skin: roughness, discomfort, dryness, tightness and weakened skin barrier, claims the brand.
“Dry skin has specific characteristics, such as a low amount of water, visible pores, scaling and redness which can be influenced by genetics, hormones or environmental conditions,” says the brand. The serum features the HydroSensitiv complex, which has the soothing properties of blue daisy.
The serum also features the HydroSensitiv complex, which has the soothing properties of blue daisy. In addition, it seals hydration with hyaluronic acid, promoting a “rejuvenating appearance.” It notably contains sunflower seed oil and vitamins B5 and E, providing hydration for 48 hours.

The body moisturizing lotion is also designed to hydrate sensitive skin with speed and lightness. The lotion also features the HydroSensitiv TM complex with a fast-absorbing texture. Like the serum, it also provides 48 hours of hydration after application and features sunflower seed oil and vitamins B5 and E.
Optimal Hydration line
In May, Cetaphil unveiled its Optimal Hydration line for the face and eye area, combining hydration with lightness. The entire skincare line is formulated using blue daisy, which has a soothing effect on the skin and contains hyaluronic acid. The line comprises facial serum, eye serum, and facial moisturizer.
Notable benefits of Cetaphil Optimal Hydration include 50% increased hydration, an in-vitro study finds. The products also calm the skin and improve its texture and glow.
The Optimal Hydration line has also sparked a launch in Metaverse, the digital universe, with the help of Satiko, avatar of presenter Sabrina Sato – who shares how skincare in the Metaverse works. Like the serum, the lotion provides 48 hours of hydration and features sunflower seed oil and vitamins B5 and E.
Hydration in the spotlight
This month, the debut of Beauty Society’s Infuse hyaluronic acid product – a daily supplement containing Haplex Plus, a “cutting-edge” type of hyaluronic acid – marked the company’s entry into the world of edible skincare, after 18 years of operating in the topical cosmetics industry.
CeraVe recently unveiled three new products, Comforting Eye Makeup Remover, Makeup Removing Cleanser Balm and Skin Renewing Eye Cream, which were created in collaboration with dermatologists. Each product contains three essential ceramides 1, 3 and 6-II that restore and maintain the skin’s natural protective barrier.
Givaudan Active Beauty introduced its Spherulite Hyaluronic Acid Ultimate, a long-lasting anti-aging active ingredient that uses vectorization technology to deliver high molecular weight hyaluronic acid deeper into the skin layers. The company also incorporated the element to create the “hyaluronic acid lip bomb.”
