iPolish debuts digital color-changing nails at CES 2026

iPolish has revealed a new path in nail polish with digital color-changing nails. The smart press-on acrylics were showcased at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, US, last week. 

The nails offer over 400 shades that can be changed in five seconds. Consumers can adjust the polish to match their mood, outfit, or occasion. 

“When you wake up in the morning, and you have a beige outfit for work, you change the color of your nails to beige,” Lance Littell, iPolish’s senior VP of Business Development, told Reuters. 

“At night, you go out on a date, you have a red dress on, you change the color of your nails to red. You can do that thousands of times over and over on demand whenever you want.”

The technology is powered by electrophoretic nanopolymers, controlled via an app on an Android or iPhone, and administered using an activation device. The Magic Wand connects to a phone via Bluetooth and requires charging to function. However, once a color is set, it remains without the need for constant power. 

Changing colors 

iPolish claims that its Digital Press-On Acrylic Nails are toxic chemical- and cruelty-free. They are waterproof and described as e-ink for the fingertips. 

The electrochemical technology has gained online attention, with some consumers wondering about the product’s durability.

The Florida-based company reports that the nails have been tested for use in real-life scenarios, as well as through quality assurance at the factory. They have been tested for 14 days of continuous use, and should last approximately two weeks due to nail growth.The color-changing nails are designed to allow users to adapt their look to any outfit or mood. 

The company warrantees its products against manufacturing defects, and says scientists are continuously working to improve the designs.

iPolish Digital Press-On Acrylic Nails are not currently designed for reuse. However, if the nail comes off early due to an accident and the display is undamaged, users can reattach it with the Hyper Glue. If the nail is damaged but the rest of the manicure is still intact, consumers can purchase a refill nail two-pack in the desired size.

Preorders for the starter kit are available for US$95 and will begin shipping this summer.

The kit includes two full sets of press-on nails in different shapes, an activation device, adhesive, nail prep tools, and access to the app.
