Hailey Bieber’s Rhode enters color cosmetics with food-inspired Peptide Lip Tint shades
25 Sep 2023 --- American model and media personality Hailey Bieber’s skin care brand Rhode will launch its Peptide Lip Tint line this Thursday, building on its previously released nourishing Peptide Lip Treatment. At the same time, Rhode products will be introduced in Europe, namely France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Ireland.
The lip tints come in four shades created with references to indulgent treats. Ribbon is described as a “satin ballet slipper” accompanied by a picture of whipped cream drizzled with pink sauce of the same hue.
The line’s Toast shade is illustrated by a hot, syrupy piece of French toast, and the berry shade is visualized as an almost fuchsia-colored Raspberry Jelly. The Espresso shade is rich brown and looks like a “bittersweet shot.”
The brand markets the products as a “restorative treatment with a hint of tint” that can be worn after lining the lips with a lip liner.
The lip tints contain shea butter for hydration and moisturization with five essential fatty acids, such as vitamins E, D, A and allantoin.
The peptides are added to plump the lips and reduce the look of fine lines, while cupuaçu – a tropical rainforest tree related to cacao – maintains skin elasticity, tackling dry lips.
Lastly, babassu brings skin moisturization and microbiome support as a natural source of lauric acid.
The lip tints’ feel is described as a “rich, velvety gloss that melts onto lips.” They are also unscented, cruelty-free, vegan, gluten-free and dermatologically tested and developed.
Recyclable system
The lip tints’ packaging is spotlighted to be made from recycled post-consumer (PCR) materials.
The outer box is fully recyclable, made from FSC-certified paper, and the cap is 30% PCR polypropylene. The tube is 30% PCR high-density polyethylene and 70% low-density polyethylene.
Consumers can recycle the lip tint packaging by shipping it back and emailing the brand. Consumers will receive a 10% discount on new orders.
In other recent launches infusing makeup with skin care functionalities, wellness and lifestyle company Goop, founded by the American actress Gwyneth Paltrow, launched five shades of Colorblur Glow Balm with skin care benefits.
Also, for the first time, MAC tapped into the “skinification” trend with its foundation serum launch featuring 33 skin care ingredients.
