dsm-firmenich Beauty & Care is introducing a portfolio of innovations designed to advance skin health and well-being at the International Federation of Societies of Cosmetic Chemists (IFSCC) Congress 2025.
The congress takes place from September 15–18 in Cannes, France, around the theme “the future is science.” dsm-firmenich says it is focusing on technologies, transformative research, and deep scientific expertise at the event.
The company reveals Corneocare 2.0, a holistic epidermal science platform focused on sensitive skin and tonality, and Facial Mapping, an approach to microbiome and well-aging supported by advanced imaging and data visualization.

The Skin Mapping Tool will be featured as an interactive experience, offering visualization across various skin parameters — such as moisture, barrier function, sebum levels, microbiome balance, and wrinkle appearance. dsm-firmenich says it is bridging scientific data with consumer language.
dsm-firmenich showcases new skin health innovations at IFSCC 2025. The ingredients company will also present expert contributions through podium presentations, workshops, and poster sessions. The speakers will cover biomechanical skin behavior, microbial distribution, neurosensory responses, and pigmentation control.
BASF will also attend the IFSCC Congress 2025. Personal Care Insights recently reported on the company’s findings on holistic microbiome science, bacteria’s role in skin aging, and retinol delivery systems. BASF plans to present these findings at the event.
dsm-firmenich’s summer of scent
This summer, dsm-firmenich unveiled multiple new fragrance innovations and released its second-quarter financials for perfume and beauty.
We spoke to Michal Benmayor, head of Perfumery Innovation and Sustainability, about the company’s fragrance platform, EmotiOn Social Connection. This platform is rooted in neuroscientific research designed to enhance human interaction and emotional closeness.
dsm-firmenich also launched Connect: Future You, a multisensory fragrance exhibition in Jakarta, Indonesia, designed to immerse visitors in the future of scent, identity, and innovation. The experience featured 22 new scents spanning fine fragrance, personal care, and home care applications, crafted by global and local perfumers.
In its August financials, the company raised its earnings outlook due to synergy gains. dsm-firmenich saw first-half 2025 sales rise to €6.51 billion (US$7.42 billion), supported by 7% organic growth and €95 million (US$108.3 million) in synergies.
The Perfumery & Beauty division saw continued growth in fine fragrance, though Beauty sub-segments like sun filters remained soft. Overall, the division contributed to a group EBITDA margin of 19.4% in H1 and 18.9% in Q2.
