MRVL Skin Solutions debuts breakthrough proprietary Blue Scorpion Peptide with Kate Bekinsale’s endorsement
19 Nov 2021 --- MRVL Skin Solutions, a part of MRVL Group, has unveiled an anti-aging skincare line based on their breakthrough ingredient, Blue Scorpion Peptide.
Resulting from years of research, the proprietary formula contains one of the world’s most rare and expensive liquids – Blue scorpion venom – which is a 434 million-year-old ingredient from the Caribbean Islands that has been used for its healing and healthy aging benefits.
The brand selected actress and producer Kate Beckinsale as its spokeswoman. “Effective skincare is what most women want at any age,” she comments.
“Motivated by years of sun damage, I became passionate to find a product that provided a true solution,” remarks MRVL Skin Solution’s founder and CEO, Rick Langley.
Peptides are essential to anti-aging and young skin as they are the building blocks for proteins needed by the skin for collagen and elasticity, essential for youthful-looking and healthier skin.
MRVL Skin Solution’s proprietary peptide has been clinically proven to help stimulate natural collagen production, fight free radicals, help regenerate symptoms of damaged skin and smooth the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Delivered through a process called hyaluronidase, Blue Scorpion Peptide is described as a “rocketship delivering MRVL’s ingredients to the skin.” Its high antioxidant level boosts the skin’s hydration, protects its barrier and restores elasticity and firmness.
A rare and potent formula
Blue Scorpion Peptide also contains an anti-aging combination of amino acids, proteins, enzymes and antioxidants.
The formula also helps protect the skin against free radical damage that also contributes to visible signs of aging.
The line is available now with five signature products, including:
- Anti-Aging Firming Serum: A light serum formulated with Blue Scorpion Peptide. This peptide is paired with Ubiquinone, an antioxidant that firms, lifts and plumps the skin to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
- Arnica Recovery Cream: A rich, velvety moisturizer that provides barrier protection to skin with added anti-inflammatory and healing benefits. The inclusion of Beta-Sitosterol activates production of collagen and skin renewal. Meanwhile, another active ingredient, Arnimo (Arnica montana – also known as wolf’s bane – flower extract), is rich in antioxidants and aids in inflammation when combined with Blue Scorpion Peptide.
- HA Hydrafill Cream: An “intensely hydrating,” ultra-lightweight daily moisturizer. Infused with amino acids, proteins and enzymes, this cream works to strengthen the skin's barrier function for a youthful, hydrated complexion. It also contains Blue Scorpion Peptide for collagen and elastin production. It is formulated with HA9 (a unique complex of 9 types of hyaluronic acid) along with Ceraplex (an encapsulated ceramide) to preserve the skin’s moisture levels and maintain plumpness.
- Super Rich Eye Cream: A fast-absorbing eye cream with Blue Scorpion Peptide powered by adenosine, collagen and ceramides to help smooth and firm the delicate eye area. Paired with the proprietary Blue Scorpion Peptide, these active ingredients help decrease the appearance of wrinkles for a smoother, youthful look after daily usage.
Committed to social responsibility, 5% of every purchase from the new MRVL line will be donated to support Today's Promises, a nonprofit charity that aids impoverished children in the Caribbean.
Packing potent peptides
Peptides are a highly functional and well-recognized ingredient in the beauty community. These short chains of amino acids perform as building blocks of proteins such as collagen, elastin and keratin.
In the ingestible beauty space, Gelita research has found that bioactive peptides stimulate collagen production when ingested orally. These compounds stay intact when passing through the intestine and cause cells to produce more collagen this way.
Leveraging this bio-mechanism, Bobbi Brown’s functional chocolate has infused its “Beauty Bites” with ingestible 250 mg of collagen peptides to help promote firm, vibrant and healthy skin.
This month, biotech player Nuritas netted a US$45 million Series B funding for its proprietary AI to discover plant-based bioactive peptides for use in the cosmetic space. The company has been vocal about switching out anti-aging claims in favor of the more positive “well-aging” or “healthy aging” product label positionings.
Earlier this year, Rousselot expanded its beauty and skincare range with new collagen peptide ingredient, dubbed as an “evergreen ingredient.” Peptan Marine can help beauty and nutrition brands differentiate and expand their portfolio with sustainably sourced, premium nutricosmetics and dietary supplements, the company says.
