Oriflame and Revieve ramp up personalized beauty with AI Skincare Advisor
19 Dec 2023 --- Swedish-Swiss beauty seller Oriflame partners with Revieve to introduce a digital skin care solution to upgrade its direct-selling model across 54 countries.
Oriflame’s AI Skincare Advisor, powered by Revieve, uses AI technology to analyze over 120 skin metrics to provide personalized product recommendations and skin care advice. Users can take or upload a selfie, answer a questionnaire and receive tailored suggestions “within seconds” to align with their skin care needs.
The company says its new innovation eliminates the need for extensive training for brand partners as it offers a user-friendly interface to navigate professional product recommendations. It also points to brand partners being able to provide “expert insights” for customers to help foster deeper engagement and trust.
Trust between consumers and brands is increasingly becoming important, especially with Gen Z adults, where authenticity is highly valued.
Beauty and retail merge
According to Revieve, the AI Skin Advisor is able to better assess individual skin conditions more closely compared to traditional in-store consultants. This ensures precise product recommendations, addressing customers’ specific needs. The digital tool can be a reliable source of accuracy, according to Revieve.
“Personalization and innovation are always at the forefront of our company’s ideas and values to provide customers with high-quality and accurate recommendations for their skin and makeup needs. Additionally, the Digital Skin Advisor is a vital tool to enable our brand partners to drive consultative selling of a complex product professionally,” says Marcus Fogel, VP of Global Digital Services at Oriflame.
“This transformative partnership with Revieve merges skin care, beauty and the latest retail innovation technology to best serve the next generation of beauty consumers.”
Introducing the AI Skincare Advisor enhances the consultant-customer interaction and fosters trust and loyalty within the Oriflame network, says Revieve.
Strategic data collection
According to Revieve, the data collected from the Digital Skin Advisor sessions is valuable for product development teams.
“The data collected from the Digital Skin Advisor sessions is valuable for product development teams. It helps build a better understanding of the main skin concerns of the current customer base, contributing to the continuous improvement of the product portfolio in line with customers’ real needs. Furthermore, long-term data collection will enable more effective production planning, forecasting and order fulfillment activities,” comments Fogel.
“This increased awareness of the preferred product mix in Beauty Routine sets will further enhance operational efficiency.”
User engagement performance
The AI Skincare Advisor experience boasts an 80% completion rate, with over 100,000 consultations. This highlights the effectiveness and widespread adoption of this digital skin care solution.
“We aim to provide personalized digital experiences to educate and help consumers better understand their skin care needs and goals,” says Sampo Parkkinen, CEO at Revieve.
Accessible through multiple channels, including the Oriflame app, users can now engage with the tool.
In other news, Revieve joined forces with Marionnaud Switzerland, debuting an AI Haircare Advisor in Switzerland and Austria.
The software company also revealed consumer skin care concerns across the US, Europe and the Middle East. At the same time, it offered a roadmap for businesses looking to succeed in the rapidly evolving world of retail, pointing to personalized experiences, automation and AI.
