In skin care, Neovadiol Longevity Revolutionizing Cream is claimed to restore skin volume up to 42% and increase youthful skin tissue by 31%. The scalp serum, Dercos Aminexil Clinical Regen Booster, was clinically tested and found to add 14,000 hairs in 12 weeks.
Personal Care Insights speaks with Amélie Priollet, global medical communications director at Vichy, about the products and the two decades of research put into the technology behind the ingredient synergies.
“These innovations were designed with today’s aging population in mind. By 2030, 1.4 billion people worldwide will be in the ‘boomer’ age bracket, and our Neovadiol cream was specifically created to address their evolving skin needs after [age] 60, when skin naturally loses its ability to renew,” says Priollet.
She explains that the cream’s core target audience is “the sophisticated baby boomer, a stylish, creative, and modern woman who appreciates a unique blend of luxury and science, seeking out pharmacist-recommended solutions with a premium touch.”
Skin interactions
The Neovadiol cream features Vichy’s new Longevisia Technology. It was developed over 20 years of research and has appeared in over 100 clinical trials conducted by Vichy and L’Oréal Research & Innovation.
Priollet tells us the formula is powered by a trio of main ingredients. Firstly, Proxylane, derived from natural xylose (a sugar), is a redensifying patented molecule that boosts the creation of skin structural fibers. It targets loss of proteostasis — the cellular process of maintaining balanced and functional proteins — by promoting the creation of structural fibers.
The cream’s formula is powered by a trio of main ingredients. The second ingredient is NAD+ Booster, which neutralizes micro-inflammation and helps restore cellular functioning. It targets loss of proteostasis, mitochondrial dysfunction, and chronic microinflammation by neutralizing micro-inflammation and helping restore cellular function by boosting NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) levels.
“Lastly, Senesveium, a new, natural active ingredient extracted from Ginkgo Biloba leaf, reactivates the skin’s power to eliminate senescent or ‘zombie cells’ to restore vitality,” says Priollett.
Zombie cells are damaged cells that no longer function but remain in the skin.
“Together, these actives help regenerate youthful skin tissue, clinically proven to increase tissue by 31% and restore up to 42% of skin volume,” Priollett adds.
She says that the cream addresses the skin’s hallmarks of aging, treating it at the “root cause” — the cellular level.
“Our Longevity Wheel regroups nine hallmarks or ‘root causes’ of skin aging into three clusters. For mature skin, formulas should address four hallmarks: loss of proteostasis, chronic microinflammation, mitochondrial dysfunction, and cell senescence.”
Hair care for growth
In hair care, the Dercos Aminexil Regen Booster features the company’s exclusive Aminexil Longevity Actives Complex technology. The serum’s key target audience is patients and consumers of all genders and ages who experience, and want to prevent, hair loss.
“It is composed of 1.5% Aminexil, which prevents collagen from hardening around the follicle, so hair remains anchored and in the growth phase longer. [It also contains] 3% Gingerol (ginger extract) and NAD+ Booster,” says Priolett.
The serum’s key target audience is consumers who experience and want to prevent hair loss. She explains that these actives stimulate stem cells, calm micro-inflammation, and boost follicle cell energy, creating the optimal environment for strong, resilient hair.
Aminexil, a patented molecule backed by more than 30 years of research, acts outside the hair bulb by preventing collagen rigidification around the bulb. This allows better hair anchorage and reduced hair loss.
“Furthermore, Gingerol and NAD+ Booster work together on the inside of the hair bulb by increasing stem cell differentiation, which boosts hair growth. The synergistic combination of these three ingredients within the Aminexil Longevity complex is scientifically proven to improve four key hallmarks of hair longevity,” says Priolett.
“We saw outstanding results in clinical studies with men and women using the product five times a week for 12 weeks. We observed an increase of over 14,000 hairs after treatment, a less visible scalp in 74% of users, 88% reduction in scalp discomfort, and 100% patient satisfaction.”
Priolett adds that the longevity launches are for those looking for effective, science-backed solutions that support healthy aging skin and hair over time.
“For us, the real impact comes from combining scientific credibility with cultural relevance — helping people everywhere embrace healthy aging in a meaningful, empowering way.”
