- Cynosure Lutronic launches its dual-frequency XERF skin tightening platform across EMEA.
- An Appinio survey of over 4,700 adults reveals strong demand for needle-free, non-invasive firming treatments.
- XERF delivers 6.78 MHz and 2 MHz frequencies in one shot, targeting multiple skin depths without numbing.

XERF, the dual-frequency skin tightening technology for aesthetics practices, is now available across EMEA (Europe, the Middle East, and Africa). The device arrives as its creator, Cynosure Lutronic, notes new consumer research revealing a spike in demand for non-invasive rejuvenation.
According to the company, 67% of patients want non-invasive treatments with no needles. XERF, short for eXperience Exponential RF, delivers two radio frequencies (RFs) in a single shot for deep and comfortable skin results.
RF skin tightening uses low-frequency electromagnetic waves, typically between 0.3 MHz and 10 MHz, to heat the deep layers of the dermis. This controlled thermal energy (usually around 42°C to 46°C) stimulates collagen and elastin production, resulting in firmer, tighter, and more youthful skin.
Cynosure Lutronic says XERF is “the only” device in its category to deliver two frequencies — 6.78 MHz and 2 MHz — within a single treatment shot. XERF enables RF energy to penetrate multiple tissue depths and address superficial, mid-dermal, and deeper structural layers within the same session.
The global developer of energy-based aesthetic technologies set its sights on Europe following the solution’s popularity in the US and Asia-Pacific.
“Since its launch in Korea, XERF has become one of the most in-demand RF platforms in the market, attracting widespread attention from global influencers and celebrities because of its ability to deliver visible, natural-looking results without needles, numbing, or downtime,” says the company.
Cynosure Lutronic discloses that the availability of XERF in each individual country is subject to the satisfaction of all applicable local regulatory and legal requirements.
Survey signals demand
The launch of the monopolar radiofrequency (RF) skin tightening platform follows consumer research, commissioned by Cynosure Lutronic and conducted by independent research firm Appinio.
The survey was conducted with over 4,700 adults across Europe and Saudi Arabia. It found 58% of respondents rated firming sagging skin as very or extremely important.
The company says its results suggest the European aesthetic market is primed for the “exact type of treatment XERF delivers.”
Nathwani says European clinics were “genuinely waiting” for the XERF platform.
Nikhil Nathwani at Cynosure Lutronic says: “The appetite we have seen ahead of this launch has been remarkable. Clinics across Europe have been reaching out to learn more, which tells us the market was genuinely waiting for this.”
In Appinio’s survey, “clear evidence of long-lasting results” was the single most consistent factor that would motivate undecided patients to consider a non-surgical skin tightening treatment, cited by 28.3% of respondents.
“Data tells us people are not simply looking for treatments that make them look younger. They want to invest in the long-term health of their skin, and they want results they can trust to last,” adds Nathwani.
Inside the technology
XERF was engineered in Korea. It has three depth settings and 10 energy levels. According to Cynosure Lutronic, this gives clinicians the flexibility to personalize every treatment.
Nathwani says that XERF allows clinicians to deliver a “genuinely” differentiated treatment experience. “We are not simply launching a new device; we are introducing a proven one to a market that is ready for it.”
The technology also features WaveFit Pulse technology, which distributes RF energy across multiple pulses rather than concentrating it in short, high-intensity bursts. This can produce a more controlled rise in tissue temperature.
Additionally, XERF has advanced Integrated Cryogen Delivery cooling. This protects the skin’s surface throughout treatment, maintaining the epidermis at a safe temperature while energy is delivered to the layers beneath.
These technologies are designed to reduce the need for pre-treatment numbing for many patients.
The launch also coincides with derma cosmetics emerging as a growth engine for K-beauty. Korean pharmaceutical companies are expanding into derma cosmetics as industry leaders identify science-backed skin care as an opportunity.
