Amplifica has closed an oversubscribed US$26 million Series B Preferred Stock financing round. With this financing, the company is said to enter its next growth phase, focusing attention on clinical development activities within its injectable hair product pipeline.
Proceeds will be used to advance clinical development of the company’s novel pipeline candidates, which are designed to reactivate dormant hair follicles and promote the growth of new hair. Currently, marketed products are primarily intended to slow or prevent further hair loss.
The financing round was led by Tasso Partners, with participation from Eli Lilly and Company, principals of Scopia Capital Management, and other new and existing investors.
Opportunity for injectables
Frank Fazio, president and CEO of Amplifica, says closing this oversubscribed round “reflects strong investor conviction in the science behind our injectable approach and in the size of the opportunity it addresses.”
“This capital allows us to accelerate our mission to deliver next-generation products to patients confronting the physical and emotional challenges of hair loss,” says Fazio.
Androgenetic alopecia is estimated to affect more than 50 million men and 30 million women in the US, according to data from medical institutions like New York University Langone Health.
Amplifica says existing daily-use treatments such as finasteride and minoxidil, though considered the standard of care, have delivered only modest improvements in hair count, and their daily-use profile introduces challenges, including poor patient compliance, tolerability, and side-effect concerns. Additionally, they are said to present limited efficacy and applicability in women.
According to Amplifica, these ongoing limitations have hindered broader adoption and further underscore the need for innovation in this space.

Hair growth developments
Recent hair care developments are placing follicle function in the spotlight, with growing emphasis on stimulating hair growth.
At Vitafoods Europe 2026, Pharmactive Biotech Products unveiled Kyoh, its first nutricosmetic. Kyoh is a single ingredient, pure extract formulated to help support hair follicle function in a range of different product concepts. The solution is a proprietary extraction of arugula leaves from the Brassicaceae family of cruciferous vegetables and is currently “the only” such extract backed by scientific research for hair growth.
Meanwhile, health supplement brand Live Conscious recently launched Clinical Hair Growth+, a supplement with Serevelle, a saw palmetto extract. A double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled clinical study found that this ingredient increases hair growth by 35% in 90 days.
The supplement combines collagen, botanicals, and essential vitamins with clinically supported ingredients to promote natural hair growth, scalp health, and strong strands from within.
A study from last year found that stevioside — a natural sweetener from the stevia plant — may help boost hair growth when used inside a dissolving microneedle patch. According to the researchers, minoxidil, a well-known ingredient for hair loss, dissolves 18 times better when combined with stevioside.
The Chinese and Australian research suggests combining the two ingredients into one formulation could make hair-loss treatments work faster and more effectively.
In 2023, Amplifica revealed that scientists at the University of California Irvine, in the US, found a molecule for treating hair loss. According to its studies, the osteopontin molecules inside moles are responsible for stimulating follicle stem cells, leading to hair growth. As a result, Amplifica prepared molecules for developing new hair growth solutions based on this finding.
