Revieve has introduced the Revieve Beauty LLM (large language model) Suite to understand the relationships between people, skin, ingredients, products, routines, behaviors, and brands.
General-purpose AI is becoming a key link between people, products, and services. Revieve says the next opportunity lies in connecting the reasoning capabilities of general AI with the depth of specialized personal care expertise.
The suite is designed to make the company’s Beauty Intelligence available wherever it is needed — from beauty brands and retailers to personal care devices, wellness ecosystems, connected technologies, AI platforms, and emerging intelligent experiences.
“For a decade, we have been building intelligence around beauty — not simply how to analyze skin or recommend a product, but how the many dimensions of beauty connect,” says Sampo Parkkinen, CEO and co-founder of Revieve.
“The Beauty LLM Suite brings that intelligence together for a new era of AI. Our vision is to connect Beauty Intelligence with a broader understanding of the individual, creating new possibilities across beauty, personal care, wellness, connected devices, and everyday life.”
How beauty concepts connect
Revieve built the Beauty LLM Suite by distilling a decade of specialized beauty intelligence into a domain-specific AI architecture.
The suite is built on patented AI and computer-vision technology for skin and facial analysis. It draws on knowledge of global beauty products, ingredients, formulations, claims, and benefits. Years of personalized beauty experiences have refined its routine and recommendation intelligence. The foundation also includes brand-specific knowledge developed through work with beauty brands and retailers worldwide.
These capabilities provide the domain expertise behind each area of intelligence within the suite. They enable the AI to understand not simply individual beauty concepts, but the relationships between them.
Revieve links beauty intelligence with general-purpose AI.
A skin concern, for example, may relate to particular ingredients. Those ingredients connect to formulations and products. Products need to work together within routines. Recommendations depend on individual goals, preferences, behaviors, and context. Brands bring their own philosophies, products, protocols, terminology, and expertise.
Modular beauty intelligence
The suite spans six interconnected domains: Skin Intelligence, Ingredient Intelligence, Product Intelligence, Routine Intelligence, Beauty Lifestyle Intelligence, and Brand Intelligence. Each domain can be accessed independently or orchestrated with others, depending on the experience, question, or task.
Skin Intelligence understands skin, skin concerns, and the context surrounding skin analysis. This includes the interpretation of Revieve computer-vision outputs.
Ingredient Intelligence understands cosmetic ingredients, their functions, relationships, compatibility, and relevance to individual beauty needs.
Product Intelligence understands products, formulations, attributes, claims, and benefits, and how they relate to individual needs and goals.
Routine Intelligence builds, explains, and adapts personalized routines based on individual needs, goals, products, and usage context.
Beauty Lifestyle Intelligence connects beauty needs with behaviors, preferences, environmental factors, and broader lifestyle context.
Brand Intelligence brings a company’s own products, philosophy, protocols, terminology, content, and expertise into the intelligence layer. This enables experiences grounded in the individual brand rather than generic beauty knowledge.
The suite powers the Beauty Intelligence layer of BeautyCatalyst.
The Beauty LLM Suite supports skin analysis, product and ingredient insights, personalized guidance, and routine building. It can also power product discovery, professional services, and conversational and agentic applications.
General meets specialized AI
Revieve says the suite reflects its view of how AI will evolve: through the connection of increasingly capable general-purpose AI with deep, specialized domain intelligence.
The industry is steadily becoming part of a broader ecosystem of personalized wellness, using AI and emerging technologies. The company developed the Beauty LLM Suite to address the complexity of beauty in this landscape.
“General intelligence and domain expertise are not the same thing,” says Irina Mazur, chief commercial and marketing officer at Revieve. “The next generation of AI experiences will increasingly come from connecting the two. General-purpose AI platforms bring extraordinary breadth and reasoning capabilities.”
Consumers are surrounded by devices and services capable of understanding different aspects of their activity, sleep, environment, routines, and other lifestyle signals. In tandem, personal care technologies can increasingly understand skin, hair, products, ingredients, preferences, routines, and beauty goals.
Revieve sees connecting these previously separate forms of intelligence as the next opportunity in the personal care industry.
“A wearable may understand aspects of activity or sleep. A connected device may understand how it is being used. A wellness platform may understand routines and behaviors. When those different forms of intelligence can work together, we can create experiences and understanding that no single system could unlock on its own,” says Mazur.
Beyond traditional commerce
The global beauty technology company’s Beauty Intelligence targets AI platforms and technology companies building assistants, agents, and intelligent experiences.
Brands can build Revieve’s beauty intelligence into their own platforms.
Beauty and personal care companies, retailers, device manufacturers, and wellness ecosystems can incorporate Revieve’s intelligence into their products, experiences, and ecosystems. The company says this extends sophisticated beauty understanding to the organizations and spares them from building that domain expertise independently.
The rising interconnectedness of beauty creates opportunities beyond traditional commerce.
These range from more adaptive personal care routines to intelligent devices and experiences that respond to changes in an individual’s lifestyle, behaviors, and environment.
With appropriate consumer permission and partner integrations, Revieve says specialized Beauty Intelligence could complement signals from connected devices, wearables, wellness platforms, and other consumer technologies to create a better context around an individual’s needs.
