In-cosmetics Global 2026: All G delivers precision-fermented lactoferrin for sustainable efficacy
05 May 2026 | All G
Isidoor Maljers, business development manager at All G, told us about the company’s animal-free, precision-fermented lactoferrin. He explained how the ingredient offers purity, consistency, and control. Maljers highlighted its superior bioactivity and bioavailability, specific to the precision fermentation process. With clinical evidence supporting its efficacy, All G’s lactoferrin provides a stable, cost-effective supply that’s free from animal products, offering simplicity, efficacy, and multifunctionality for personal care formulations.
This is Ella Jayalal for Personal care insights at In Cosmetics Global 2026, joined by Isidor Malios, the business development manager at OG.
Hello, Isidor.
So jumping straight into it, you're showcasing LFX animal-free precision fermented lactoferrinn at this event.
What specific skin benefits should formulators be targeting with this ingredient?
Yeah, so with LFX, the main focus areas are oil control, skin barrier support, hydration, and also reduce of redness.
And the great thing about LFX is that it targets all these areas in one go.
So lactoferrrin is a very studied protein.
It has great antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant features.
It also binds iron, which makes it very important in bacterial growth and also a healthy skin, microbiome.
So, yeah, it's really a very multifunctional protein, and that's what makes it very great and easy to formulate with.
OK.
And how would you say that this differs from traditionally dairy derived versions, especially in high performance personal care applications?
Yes, so with precision fermentation we basically offer three things.
So we offer purity, consistency, and then also control.
So with precision fermentation we are able to modulate the iron content of the lactoferrrin.
So we can basically create a more bioactive and more bioavailable version of the protein.
This is really unique to precision fermentation, so it's not something you would find, a native, lactoferrinn to offer.
And then obviously there's the, the obvious benefits of being animal free, and then the more, I would say commercial benefits is that we can really offer a very stable supply and a downward price trajectory.
So yeah, it becomes an ingredient that people are relying on and not something they have to work around.
OK, and my next question is, with increased interest in dermocosmetic actives, how are you supporting formulators in integrating lactoferrrin into anti-aging, acne-targeted, or oxidative stress product platforms?
So we offer formulators two things.
First thing is we offer them very strong evidence.
So through our pre-clinical and our clinical trial, we have shown great efficacy.
So across oil control, across hydration, across skin barrier function, and across skin soothing functions.
So first of all, that's what we offer both in vitro and in vivo evidence with our preclinical trials.
Also showing, you know, pro-inflammation markers down, collagen induction.
So that's the first thing I would say that we offer formulators, and the second thing we offer is simplicity.
So as I mentioned, you know, this great sort of 4 in 1 active that you would normally need a full stack of ingredients to achieve that same efficacy.
We can offer that in one ingredient, so.
Yeah, it's a very easy and efficacious active ingredient to formulate with, especially for these types of applications.
And finally, beyond lactoferrrin, which next generation recombinant proteins or precision fermentation actives are in your pipeline that addresses emerging trends like microbiome friendly ingredients or bioactive skin support?
Yeah, so our platform supports a wide range of recombinant protein development.
So with OG we're really focusing on these recombinant dairy proteins, and we've started with LFX, which is a bovine equivalent lactoferrinn, and then later on this year we're introducing human lactoferrrin.
So this is a human equivalent lactoferrinn.
That we have great, you know, signs and hypothesis for that it'll be much more friendly to the human skin and the human microbiome, so that's, I would say a next ingredient pipeline and then in terms of commercial, market entry, our bovine le friend is now compliant for use in China.
It's compliant for use in the EU, we can use it in Japan, in Korea, and we're really hoping to expand.
The markets that we can sell these products, you know, into not just skincare but also supplements and and other functional and health foods.
So yeah, keep an eye out if you want to learn more.

We will also be launching or presenting the final results of our clinical trial there, so keep posted.
All right, perfect.
